The City aspires to install as much sidewalk as possible and has implemented a Sidewalk Master Plan to add sidewalks strategically to have connections throughout the City and provide better vibrant neighborhoods. The plan includes 1/2 cent sales tax funding, committed grant funding and city funds.

It is important to note that the City also increases the sidewalk inventory through other means such as roadway improvement projects. An example is the Crosstown Parkway project added an additional two miles of sidewalks.
